Join us for our online workshop "Changing the Game in GCE: Are Games the Future of Transformative Education?"
At this event we will launch the Bridge 47 GCE video game "Realtopia: Message from the Future", and we'll discuss how games can be a tool for transformative education.
Who says learning has to be difficult? Games are one of the first methods humans used to learn and interact with each other. That’s no coincidence; our minds are wired to learn through game-playing. We play to understand social dynamics, to expand our creative thinking and to experiment with resources.
The potential for games in transformative education is big. Let’s explore and tap into it!
The Bridge 47 innovation team, has been working on an app – a game created for and by students that is aimed at teaching about Global Citizenship. In this special online session with Network members, we will happily share some of our learnings and have an informal chat with you about the power of games for making learning more transformative.
Why are games powerful learning tools?
How does the process of creating a game work?
How did we do the conceptualisation?
What are good examples of GCE games that we can use as practitioners?
What are the pros and cons of using games in Transformative Education?
You are most welcome to join us online on 10 December from 3-4.15 PM UTC+1. Please register here. If you have some examples of games (could be yours, or just games you know of), please let us know before hand by contacting jakub.zaludko@bridge47.org, we’d be happy to take them on board in the event!
Registered participants will receive the download link of the game prior to the event; the link will be openly available on our website together with a user‘s manual of the game in early 2021
