Walking together! Iberian knowledge partnership launches new publication on GCE

“If you want to go fast, walk alone; if you want to go far, walk together! (Proverb)

The Revista de Fomento Social of Universidad Loyola Andalucía has recently launched a new publication on global citizenship education in the Agenda 2030, focusing on learnings and challenges for collaboration among actors. This publication goes together with the recent Sinergias ED joint number supported by Bridge 47, and it came about also as a product of the exchanges among the participants of the Bridge 47 Knowledge Exchange Partnerships initiative, facilitated by EADI.

The new number, edited by Antonio Sianes, coordinator of the Iberian Knowledge Exchange Partnership of Bridge 47, pays attention to the creative and constructive potential of collaboration in global citizenship education and education for sustainable development. It is about, as he highlights in the editorial, “to build bridges that take us farther in the construction of realities of social justice, citizenship, and peace.”

The number includes academic articles, and the Envision 4.7 Roadmap, elaborated in a participatory process in November 2019 and which also counted with the contribution of members of the Iberian Knowledge Exchange Partnership who travelled to Helsinki.

Since then, further meetings, face-to-face in Santiago de Compostela in November 2019, and online in May 2020 have taken place. Moreover, collaboration through publication initiatives, webinar series, encounters at international gatherings continue bringing the experts together for furthering the goals of SDG 4 and Target 4.7. Bridge 47 has been supporting the efforts of this collective during the timeline of the project.
